This is Ringer. He is 6 years old and is completely blind.
When he was very young, teenage boys stabbed his eyes out with sticks. Ringer now lives with Amanda of AWBAR where he gets regular vet check-ups and spoiled sometimes with cheerios. On his birthday, Ringer even gets his own cake!  What is AWBAR? It stands for "Abandoned Wild Babies Animal Rescue". AWBAR is run by one person, Amanda Smith. She takes in injured and abandoned wildlife and nurses them back to full health so that she can then release them back into the wild. AWBAR runs solely off of donations and is not state-funded. We are currently trying to raise money to get our non-for-profit status. hehe, he really is fat. When I worked at our local wildpark I asked why the raccoons have to short tails. The keeper said with a sigh: Uh, actually their tails are normally long ... they are just incredible fat
