Hey! Bats aren't evil! They're important to the ecosystem!
It's a very cool photo though, especially with all the bats roosted around the center one. Awesome.

I've held a vampire bat before...I had to wear very thick gloves though so that he wouldn't bite into my fingers =P

I don't know if they were exactly that kind but they looked like it!Gigantic ears,pig-like nose,big mouth and eyes as small as poppy seeds!They're quite small and very common here!They're almost completly blind and in order to fly they scream and use the eco they get for direction!when I was holding the first one I saved he screamed and it was the sweetest sound!I feel luky to have had this opportunity twice!To see them close,to touch them and of course save them!But when i say it to people the reaction is almost everytime the same "A bat? So disgusting! It's like a rat with wings!How could you touch it?"....what do they know!!! :)

Maybe the bat you held was the Ozark big-eared bat (?). But then again there are a few species of big-eared bats...and each and every one of them I love =P

Yes, people have many misconceptions about bats...they think that bats are dirty creatures when in fact bats are very clean animals (except for the fact that they poop in caves :giggle:)

Well...they live in caves...where else would they poop! And even if they made a bat-toilet (after all there's the bat-mobile why not a bat-toilet or bat-bath:) ),they stay upsidedown...the poor things would poop on themselves!!!

well...fruit bats (the ones I most recently took pictures of) actually turn themselves right-side-up to pee and poop. It's actually pretty funny to watch :lmao:

They hold onto something with the little hooks on their wings and just let their waste drop anywhere =P
